Background

Sarah Sapone has over 17 years professional experience in Architecture, Planning, and Real Estate Development.

Her specialty is in Custom Residential, Spec, Commercial Manufacturing + Warehouse, Agricultural Building, Hospitality, Sustainability and Planning.

She also has experience in designing Retail, Business, Medical Laboratory Research and Academic Buildings. 

In 2009 and 2010, she worked with Aedas, the 4th largest architecture firm in the world, and the regionally acclaimed firm, WOHA architects in Singapore to design a zero net energy producing philanthropic village in Cambodia for her Master's Degree Project. 

Sarah has worked with notable architects including Ware Malcomb Architects, Backen, Gillam, & Kroeger Architects in St Helena and as a Project Manager with Swatt | Miers Architects. In Interiors and Hospitality design, she has worked on international projects as a Senior Designer with Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) in San Francisco and in 2006 with HBA in Atlanta for the Bullard Group to build the Ritz Carlton, Ft Lauderdale. She has worked in collaboration with AD100 top talent, Groves and Co., NYC on an expansive Oakville estate. 

Sarah completed her Bachelors of Arts, Honors in Architecture Degree in the College of Environmental Design at the University of California, Berkeley. She also studied at the Sorbonne IV, Paris and completed her Masters of Architecture from the University of Miami, Coral Gables. During her Masters, she lived in Turin and Singapore, studied in Rome and Southeast Asia. Bella Development Charity, the 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Organization founded in 2010 as a CA Tax Exempt Corporation is based on her Master's Degree Project, a Zero Net Energy Producing Village Case Study in Cambodia, precedent to around the world philanthropic villages.

Among her mentors are Jon Lail of Lail Design Group and Keith Rogal, of Rogal + Walsh + Mol, Carneros in Napa and Sonoma, Ca.
